MEMORABLE EXPERIENCES WITH NATURE
Getting your hands dirty, feeling the weather on your face and taking time to really notice your surroundings are great ways to connect with nature. Learning about the environment creatively; whether thinking, making, writing or movement, makes outdoor experiences memorable and fun. No matter the topic we give children a truly unforgettable learning experience.
Topics include:

Pond Life
Identifying species, their life cycles and importance to the ecosystem

Ecosystems
From insects to apex predators, food webs, energy and cycles

Birds
Making a sound amplifier, identifying bird song, nests and flight

Seasonal Change
Why we have seasons, changes, growth and decay

Weather
Appreciating every weather, how it’s created and why it’s important
PROJECT EXAMPLE
What’s in the pond?
A fun and hugely fascinating activity loved by students of all ages. The session looks at the science of identifying the creatures we find beneath the surface and explores their lives and life-cycles.
We explore questions such as how many species can a pond support? How does a pond skater stay on the surface? And how can a water shrew hold its breath for so long?
We consider the food web of the life within the pond and those creatures that visit it, making connections with wider environmental issues and classroom teaching.
